World Meeting of Families Parish Patch Work Banner

The parish council is planning to create a patch-work banner(s) for the

WMOF gathering in August, depicting the various families in our Parish.

Each parish is made up of thousands of families. Each family is unique and varies in size and makeup  just like a patch in  a patchwork banner.

Families can consist of a mother and father; families with children; single parent families; couples living together; people on their own; nuns, priests, brothers or sisters living in community; people living in a nursing home, people with special needs; and of course the various parish groups and clubs are another type of family for example the GAA and soccer clubs, the family mass team, the dancing groups, the schools, the various parish support groups, the scouts, the flower club,  the nifty fifties, baptismal team, the SVP, the singing groups, the  running clubs etc...). Everyone belongs to a family. No family is the same, each unique, just like a patch in a quilt, but we all come together to form our unique Parish on the Navan Road.

We are inviting you as a family or as a group or a club or an organisation or you as an individual to create a unique patch representing your family. The patch will be included in our Parish banner. All patches will be sown together to create a banner  in time for the WMOF in August, and will be displayed in the Church. Each patch should be A4 in size, that is 210 × 297 millimetres or 8.27 × 11.69 inches, the same size as a sheet of paper used in any home printer.

If you are interested in creating a patch or have any question please leave your name in the Sacristy or Parish Office, get patching and we will be in contact.

It is planned to start sewing the patches together in early June, so get patching. Remember each patch must be A4 in size no bigger, no smaller.
