FIRST HOLY COMMUNIONS DUE TO TAKE PLACE NEXT WEEK ARE POSTPONED

First Holy Communion Postponed

Dear Girls, Boys, Parents and Guardians.

RE: Postponement of First Communion

As you are aware the number of coronavirus cases in Dublin continues to rise and the Government has announced that Dublin is now placed on Level 3 of the Governments COVID-19 Resilience and National Recovery Plan, beginning at midnight last night for a three-week period.

The immediate implication of Dublin been placed at level 3 is that all religious services will move online, with places of worship remaining open for private prayer only. Further to this the Archbishop has written out to each parish stating that ‘Confirmation and First Communion services will therefore not be possible during this period and will have to be postponed.’

Regrettably the 5 First Holy Communion ceremonies for the 120 children in our parish schools scheduled for 23rd, 24th and 25th of September are now postponed. I know how disappointing this is for so many.

We will provide further updates as we receive them These updates will be posted on our parish web page (https://navanroadparish.com) and on our parish facebook page (Navan Road Parish – Our Lady Help of Christians).

Stay Safe and God Bless
